How Buzzing Along Movers started
I’m Gabe Navarro, and I grew up in the Fire Mountain neighborhood here in Oceanside, watching moving trucks come and go from the base housing all summer. After high school I spent seven years on the crew for a San Diego van line, learning the trade the hard way: bad backs, long ramps, and customers who got quoted one price and billed another. That last part stuck with me. In 2013 I started Buzzing Along Movers to do the opposite, to give military and local families a flat-rate written quote and then honor it.
The crew
We’re 14 staff and 9 movers strong, with six trucks of our own. Brianna Acosta runs the office and answers in English or Spanish. Sergio Luna keeps the trucks dispatched and on schedule. On the trucks, Tavo Ramirez has handled our piano and specialty jobs since 2015, Kai Watson leads the long-distance runs, and Marisol Vega knows apartment and condo moves better than anyone in North County. Everyone wears a uniform, everyone’s been background-checked, and nobody on your job is a subcontractor. When you book us, you get us.
How we work
The flat rate is the heart of it. We send someone to look at what you’re actually moving, then put a fixed price in writing. The price quoted is the price paid. We own the trucks and the labor, so there’s no carrier in the middle adding a margin. That control is also why we can stand behind the schedule and the careful handling.
Why Oceanside and North County
This is home. I know which side of Coast Hwy floods first when the June Gloom turns to rain, and I know the I-5 will clog by 7am if you don’t load early. A lot of our work is for Camp Pendleton families on PCS orders, so we handle the PPM and DITY weight-ticket paperwork that the military reimbursement requires. We also do a steady stream of coastal-condo moves in Carlsbad, Encinitas, and Solana Beach, where the HOA wants a certificate of insurance and gate access sorted before the truck arrives. We’ve done it enough times that it’s routine for us, even when it’s stressful for you.
